the lego story
In the 1932 the family had a workshop. Oli started building wood toys, his boy helped him out
by writing exciting things about the wood toys. The son’s name was Godfrey and the Father’s name was Oli. The business was a family business. They called the business LEGO and they got the name from the word LEGODT which means play well.
They started making plastic toys and they sold them. Godfrey travelled to England and sold lots of the toys. Godfrey started up LEGOLAND because the people wanted to see all the awesome LEGO things.
My favourite part from the story was how they started the business because Godfrey took over from Oli’s work and I liked how good a businessman Godfrey was.

music eveing
The Saint Pius X School music evening happened in the hall. There were lots of people there, students, teachers and parents.
At the music evening it started with Room 2 singing and playing instruments. We then went to Room 1 who performed with Room 2 in partners. Room 4 did a boogie dance while Room 5 did a piece of music on recorders and other stuff.
When it was room 3’s turn I was happy because I was going to perform. It was awesome because Ana and Rachel led us in our singing.
My favourite thing about the music evening was the Noizy Boys from Room 7 because they played the drums loud.

Pigeon Impossible
Plot: Walter opened his case up and after that the pigeon went to him get the donut from him. The pigeon went into the case and he pressed the buttons. He thought they were shiny and new. After the pigeon went into the case and was shooting everything, Walter showed him the donut so the pigeon came out of the suitcase, but the donut fell onto the big red button that is for making the bomb start to go to Russia. Walter grabbed the case and flew up to the bomb and the bird got the donut. Walter stopped the bomb. The pigeon was eating the donut and a piece of the bomb.
Problem: it was Walter’s fault for letting off the bomb, the pigeon went in his suitcase because
he wanted the whole donut for himself
Solution: by waving the donut at the bird so the bird came out the suitcase. by shooting
a missile into the bomb.

looked like us on earth. After this a creature came to me
and told me he had a present for me. He had green skin and was wearing a black vest and black jeans and black shoes. He had a big diamond on his head. He gave me a green bottle with a world inside it. The world looked rich.

glitter art
I love painting because we can pick our own colours and get messy. Doing our background we used paint and pastels to make our art stand out. We were inspired by a young artist called Reuben Paterson. We used kowhaiwhai patterns in our art. My favourite thing was painting my art and putting the glitter on my painting too.

Howick Historical Village
My
favourite thing about the trip at the Howick Historical Village was
making a trolley. There were teachers helping us, we had tools. The
tools that we had were wheels, wood, screws, spanner, nuts and washers.
We were split up in our school maths groups and we had to use team work. Some other groups were running out of time. It was hard to make the trolley.
We had to look at the pictures and look at the instructions so we could put all the parts in the right place.
In my group was Ilaisaane, Viliami, Catherine, Christopher, Justin and Miss G. I like making the trolley because we could put our bags in it and use it to go places.
At the end we had to take it apart because the next group was coming in.

Holiday Recount
“Yay! I’m going to the movies!” On Saturday I was very excited to meet some of my church friends at the Sylvia Park movies. There were lots of us. Paul, Nathan, Jordan and I watched Battleship Pirate.
The movie was funny and cool. It was about a man who quit being a pirate and his crew didn’t want to be his friend any more. Later on in the movie they all became friends again and everyone was happy. When the movie finished we wanted to look around Sylvia Park.
We split up our group and met later on at the train stop. When we all arrived at the station we caught the next train to Glen Innes. My tummy was starting to get hungry. By the end of the train ride most of us wanted to eat. We decided to have takeaways. We ordered chicken nibbles, fish and chips. Most of us were tired after eating our lunch and decided to go home.
Today was awesome and so exciting for me. By the end of the day I went home and straight to bed.

My Soul Friend
On St Patrick’s day, our school had a Soul Friends mass. My soul friend’s name is Marcus. He is in Room 4. Marcus’ favourite colour is blue because it is the colour of the sky. His favourite subject is maths just like me.
Marcus is very kind to me, that is why I like him as my soul friend. Having Marcus as a soul friend is good for me because I can share lunch with him and also play games. My soul friend is the best soul friend and I am very happy to have him.

Peculiar Person
I’m a most peculiar person,
As almost everyone knows.
I’ve a crown on the top of my head,
And nails grow out of my toes.
I’ve eardrums that help me hear.
And eyeballs that help me see,
And there’s even a mole on the tip of my nose,
Yes, there’s nobody quite like me.
I’ve got ‘mussels’ that grow in my arms and my legs,
And shoulder blades on my back.
I’ve a rib-cage to hold my heart in -
There’s really not much that I lack.
There’s a button that does up my tummy,
And my funny-bone keeps me amused.
When I look at myself in the mirror,
It’s no wonder I feel confused.
I’m a most unusual person,
And even my doctor agrees,
For that’s what he said when he came to examine
The caps that I have on my knees.
And I sometimes get pins and needles,
When it’s raining cats and dogs,
But what else could you really expect,
From a person whole throat’s full of frogs!
